Should I confront my spouse or put up with it if I've had enough of emotional abuse?

You should definitely not put up with emotional abuse. But, you also need to be very careful when confronting a spouse about the abuse you suffer. While some spouses never graduate from emotional to physical abuse it is always a possibility.

You can offer your spouse a choice to get help or live with the consequences of a separation or divorce. Before you confront your spouse, you need to make sure you have a safe place to go and you are actually ready to leave. Threats are not helpful. Sometimes when faced with separation a spouse will agree to attend counseling or therapy either together or individually.
