‘‘The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor caught the president totally unaware’’, says the president’s spokesman. However, it was faintly established the Japanese plan to attack the West coast Pacific and the president was aware of this but the specific target was not known. Considering Japan’s bloody history of military surprise attacks, the United States is no exception of being a victim.

The conspiracy that the president knew about this is not supported by any tangible evidence. There were no signs of the attack as reported by the signal intelligence crew in Washington. This was the greatest magnitude of intelligence failure. Additionally, how could the president and his officials allow an operation that could claim over 2400 lives of their fellow Americans with no clear motive?
