When a bully is bullying or cyber-bullying a victim, the parents may turn a blind eye to the idea that their child is a bully. They may make excuses for why their child is bullying others. This will only prolong the bullying caused by their child. Therefore, if the parent raises their child by making excuses for their child’s behavior, this would play a part in later cyberbullying. Parents may also be bullies.

They may teach their own children to be bullies. Many times, the parents won’t admit to being a bully and then they will not admit that their child is a bully too. However, not all bullies are due to poor parenting. Sometimes, cyberbullies become overconfident on their own and exhibit bullying behavior on their own.
