People want to believe that their ancestors who they knew are up in heaven. They will sometimes give credit for the good things that happen in their lives due to their ancestors helping them. Also, sometimes they will pray to their ancestors in heaven to help them out during a struggling or dangerous time in their life.
Usually, people only expect and pray to their ancestors that they knew. Ancestors that they didn’t know or they were not close with are usually not prayed to. Instead, people pray to the people who they relied on while the people were here on Earth. They feel that they will take care of them and have extra powers now that they are deceased and in heaven.
