Patois is a type of accent or dialect that is spoken by people that is not their natural language. Some examples of Patois can be seen in France, Jamaica, and other creole dialects. Sometimes, people in Jamaica will speak Patois instead of the common English that is the primary language spoken in Jamaica. They usually speak Patois in their daily speech.

Patois is a language that includes certain words from a variety of other languages. When someone like Drake speaks in a language that is not their own, it does seem weird. It seems that it would be reasonable if Drake spoke Patois Jamaican if he was born or spent time in Jamaica, but he didn’t so that is why it is cringy to hear him speak this way.
