In which direction are you now facing?

An old treasure map has the following instructions: Stand next to the black rock and face West. Walk 20 yards and then turn 90 degrees clockwise. Walk another 10 yards and then turn 45 degrees anticlockwise. Walk another 15 yards, reverse your direction and walk 5 yards back. Turn 135 degrees clockwise and walk another 10 yards.

Correct answer is option west. You are facing the west.

Since the direction is what matters. The distance traveled can be ignored. Considering the reversal as 180 degrees clockwise (keep in mind that it can be considered in anti clockwise direction).
Total turning taken = 90 + 180 + 135 - 360 + 45
= 0

This therefore means that you are still facing the direction of the WEST.
