It is defined as Leading. Leading is a different type of fundamental function in an organization. It involves the use of power to motivate employees to attain organizational aims and objectives.

However, there are ways to motivate members, these include;

a. Radiating positivity, when there is a good vibe around the office i.e., the spirit of enthusiasm from a leader, the members will feed off that positive source.

b. Transparency, that moment, you are extremely open with your members about the happenings at the topmost level, so there won't be surprises and allow them to feel involved in the crucial decisions. It helps to motivate them

c. Trusting them, let them be aware that you trust and depend on them to carry out the best job. A vote of confidence can do lots of things.

d. Giving them a purpose, when this is achieved, they understand better how to work for the best interest of the organization.

Leading

Regardless of level or area, management involves the four basic functions of organizing, planning and decision making, controlling, and leading. Refer to Figure 1.2 in your textbook.
